Thomas (Tom) Alummootil has over 20 years of Clinical Research and Clinical Data Management experience with different Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies at different levels.
Currently he is with Smith & Nephew working as Data Management Lead within Global Biostatistics and Data Management Group. Previously he worked for Novartis, Warner Chilcott, Sanofi-Aventis, Insmed and Pfizer in different capacity.
Tom was on an international assignment with Pfizer from 1998 – 2000 and helped Pfizer to start the Clinical Data Management Group in Mumbai, India. He moved back to Connecticut and worked as a liaison between Groton and Mumbai offices to co-ordinate data management activities.
Tom helped Insmed, a bio-pharmaceutical company in Richmond, Virginia for internalizing their Data Management Activities and developing related processes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Working Practices (WPs).
Tom is associated with Drug Information Association (DIA), Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM) and American Management Association (AMA) and Rutgers University Design Thinking. He volunteered to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to update the Vendor Selection and Management chapter of the Good Clinical Data Management Practice (GCDMP).
Tom received his Master’s Degree in Information Management from Stevens Institute of Technology and Bachelor’s degree in Information Processing Systems from Rutgers University, New Jersey. Also he has a certificate in Leadership and Management from Management Concepts, Washington D.C. Tom and his wife Susan reside in Clinton, New Jersey, with their two children Sarah and Emil.
