Scott Drake is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for News Technology, NBCUniversal.
Scott is a Technology Strategy Leader on the NBC News Group Transformational initiative. The project charter is to transform the NBC news organization to make it more agile and ready for the future across all platforms driven by the themes of innovation, collaboration, and optimization.
Prior to joining the NBC News Technology Group, Scott was the Senior Vice President for CNBC Digital, responsible for CNBC’s Digital Products & Technology teams focused on the execution and strategy for CNBC broadband, mobile, and emerging products along with CNBC’s suite of On-Air Broadcast Applications.
Scott has over 25 years of technology & software development expertise, most recently as SVP & CIO of Information Technology for CNBC, responsible for all real-time on-air applications and analytics. Previously, Scott was Chief Technology Officer for CNBC.com, responsible for building the technology organization for the site.
Prior to joining CNBC, Scott was General Manager at Bloomberg.com from 1996 to 1999, where he was responsible for Bloomberg’s Internet products. Scott was also in charge of equity derivative software development for Bloomberg’s professional services from 1990 to 1996. Before then, Scott was an equity quantitative analyst at
Salomon Brothers Inc.
Scott holds a B.S. degree in civil engineering from Rutgers College of Engineering while earning three varsity letters in football.
